I’m Jayne, a Kent-based artist and designer. My journey began with textile design at Winchester School of Art, leading to a career in design management within the tabletop and travel goods industries. I still enjoy consulting for several UK brands. However, amidst deadlines and business demands, I’ve sought a more personal fulfillment, finding it in image creation. I believe connectivity is crucial to my growth as I navigate the challenges of our evolving world.

My work is deeply inspired by the natural world, exploring the delicate balance between the strength and vulnerability of plants on our fragile planet. I focus on studying my immediate surroundings and local flora. Currently, I work primarily with cyanotype, drawn to its inherent spontaneity and unpredictability. I’m captivated by the alchemical process, which yields a rich tapestry of blues that beautifully capture intricate images. I often experiment with combining cyanotype with other materials, always seeking new ways to express my intimate connection with nature. I support my work with spontaneous sketching and regularly attend life drawing sessions.
